Who is Sarah?

Sarah Ann Shanahan was  born and raised in New Lisbon, Wisconsin and is the first generation of her family to attend and graduate college. She holds a Bachelor of Science from UW-Madison.

Sarah works as the Midwest Clean Energy Coordinator for Clean Wisconsin, and as the Clerk of the Town of Fountain. Sarah volunteers as a mentor for the Juneau County Diversion Program, Board Member for Family Planning Health Services, a member of the Hustler Boosters Club, and participates in the Juneau County SEA of Change homeless coalition.

After running unsuccessfully in 2010, she was asked to run for Clerk for the Town of Fountain. I’m grateful for my position as Clerk. It has taught me a great deal about the inter-working of government and provided me with valuable insight on where, literally, the rubber meets the road, stated Shanahan.

Why run again for the Wisconsin State Assembly?
“I’m running because I think we need representatives who will work on policy that is good for the people of this state, not for political favors and lobbyists. With our Senator working to bridge the partisan waters, I think it’s important we have the same counterpart in the Assembly.” Sarah stated.
